Julie Whitford is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a master’s degree (M.A.) in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary’s University-Twin Cities. Julie previously held a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. Julie is working towards obtaining the credential again soon as she took a career break to have her own kids a few years ago.
Julie has had extensive training, supervision and clinical hours in non-directive play therapy. Julie specializes in working with young children ages 2 to 8 years old. Julie considers it a privilege to enter a child’s world through play and to partner with parents on all things parenting.
Julie uses the framework of attachment, family systems, and developmental psychology to guide her work with children and families and also heavily includes parents in her work with their children. Julie brings a warm, compassionate, and open presence to the kids and families she serves.
In her free time, Julie loves being a mother, attending her kids’ activities, working out, and taking walks in her neighborhood during the nicer months of Minnesota.
