Ms. Amanda Maki is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a master's degree (M.S.) in Community Counseling from St. Cloud State University. She has many years experience working with children, families, and adults in urban and suburban environments. Amanda has experience working in settings such as in-home, school-based, and outpatient therapy. She is certified in evidence-based practices including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP). Amanda is passionate about and specializes in trauma and grief and loss counseling with children, families, and young adults. She also works in particular with anxiety, depression/mood disorders, panic disorder, and life transitions. Amanda is a LGBTQ+ Ally counselor. She employs a number of counseling approaches in order to assist her clients achieve progress. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-centered Therapy, Holistic Theory, Strength Based Psychology, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy. Amanda values a holistic view of therapy and treatment. Amanda is a member of the American Counseling Association.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her crazy cat. She loves the Minnesota outdoors and kayaking on the many lakes.
