Abby (she/her/hers) is currently pursuing her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to Murphy Psychological Services, she spent 6 years working in several mental health-related research labs studying cognition, infant, parent, and early childhood mental health, and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders in children. She also has experience working with children and adolescents as a nanny, high school cross country and track coach, and as an intern in a community center middle school program.
As a counselor, she hopes to provide an inclusive and safe environment to a wide range of clients. Her specific interests include fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)/ERP, trauma, motor tics/CBIT, depression, and anxiety. She is excited to be a part of a private practice and make a change in the lives of clients.
In her free time, she enjoys running, cooking, watching reality TV, and spending time with family and friends.
Abby is a pre-licensed clinician working under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Murphy.
